This Privacy Policy explains how Parallens, as a Data Controller, processes personal information collected when you use our Parallens services (including www.parallens.com, collectively, the "Parallens Services") via the internet and mobile applications. This Privacy Policy also applies to any personal data collected through the operation and use of any Parallens products connected to the Parallens Services (the "Products"), as well as any other Parallens services we may provide.
The term "Parallens Services" refers to the website, web application, mobile application, and subscription services.
By using this application, you consent to our collection of the following information:
When you create or log in to an account through the application, we collect your username and email address to manage your account.
If you subscribe to a paid service, we collect relevant billing and order information.
After logging into your account, we may collect information about the device used to access the application, including device identifier, IP address, device type, operating system, and usage data (such as timestamps and feature usage).
When you add a camera through the application, video, images, audio, and sensor data captured by the device may be uploaded to our servers or cloud storage for purposes including AI-based recognition and other functionality.
For services requiring location (such as device tracking, device sharing, and gallery statistics), we may collect coarse or precise location data, including country/region, area, coordinates, time zone, and language settings. You acknowledge that trail cameras are often deployed in remote or private locations, and that geolocation data associated with your devices and captured content is considered sensitive information.
This includes in-app unique identifiers (e.g., instance ID), installed application data, SDK version, update settings, application configuration (region, language, time zone, font), foreground and background activity, and status records (e.g., installation, update, deletion).
This includes information generated when connecting to 4G/5G networks and associated geolocation data.
When you contact us for support or inquiries, we collect your email address, phone number, and the content of your communications.
Important Notice: The login page does not read any personal or device data. All data access occurs after login. Third-party SDKs do not collect user personal or sensitive data, and any processed data is securely encrypted and stored in our database.
We may collect and use aggregated or de-identified data in accordance with applicable laws, which cannot identify any individual. This may include:
This information helps us improve the quality and performance of our services.
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
To operate, maintain, and improve the application and services, including device configuration, media transfer, cloud storage, and connection management.
When accessing your camera, the App may capture photos and utilize your device's built-in AI neural network engine for on-device super-resolution and full-color night vision enhancements. All image processing for these features is performed locally on your device. Your images are never uploaded to any cloud servers or shared with any third parties.
Our application integrates an AI assistant feature (the "AI Assistant") powered by the Alibaba Cloud Qwen3.5-Plus large language model (provided by Tongyi Yunqi (Hangzhou) Information Technology Co., Ltd.). The AI Assistant requires your explicit consent prior to use. Depending on your region, your data will be routed to and processed on servers located in the United States (Virginia) or Germany (Frankfurt). When interacting with us via the AI Assistant:
To respond to inquiries, provide assistance, and manage your account and subscription.
To maintain account settings, manage subscriptions, process payments, and send service-related notifications.
To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access.
To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and law enforcement requirements.
With your consent, we may send disclosures, messages, notifications, and other communications (including direct marketing SMS) to your designated phone number and email account. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time.
You may choose to display, share, email, or otherwise make available (collectively, "Submit") text, graphics, photos, videos, images, audio, and other works of authorship ("Your Content") through the Products or directly to Parallens when requesting services (including for online storage and sharing with third parties). You confirm that you expressly understand that when you post Your Content in publicly accessible areas of the Parallens Services or through the Parallens Services on third-party social networking sites, such content will be accessible and viewable by others. You are solely responsible for Your Content submitted through the Parallens Services, and Parallens assumes no responsibility for any errors or omissions in Your Content.
By making Your Content available on or through the Parallens Services, you grant Parallens a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, worldwide, royalty-free right and license to use, reproduce, modify, publicly display, publicly perform, and distribute Your Content in the course of operating and providing the Parallens Services to you. We also have the right to reformat, create derivative works of, excerpt, translate, modify, or otherwise alter Your Content for storage and viewing through the Parallens Services. This license is valid only for the duration of your use of the Parallens Services. When you delete your account or we delete Your Content in accordance with this Policy, this license automatically terminates and we will cease using Your Content, except where retention of backups is required to satisfy legal retention requirements. When you post or share Your Content for public viewing or in publicly accessible areas of the Parallens Services, other users may continue to access and share content you have made public, and you understand that such public content cannot be fully retracted.
Parallens may also make available on the Parallens Services text, graphics, photos, videos, images, illustrations, audio, music, commentary, and other works of authorship that it owns or that originate from other users of the Parallens Services ("Parallens Content"). Parallens Content, the Parallens Services, and their underlying technology are protected by U.S. and foreign copyright, trademark, patent, intellectual property, and other laws. You may access and view Parallens Content solely for personal use and consumption. Copying, selling, renting, distributing (including via digital distribution), publicly performing (including via digital performance), marketing, creating derivative works of, or otherwise exploiting such Parallens Content is prohibited without Parallens's prior written consent.
You represent and warrant that you own Your Content, or that you have all rights necessary to submit Your Content in the manner you choose, and that you grant us the license to use Your Content as described in this Privacy Policy. You warrant, represent, and agree that Your Content, and its use and availability on the Parallens Services, will not: (i) infringe, misappropriate, or violate any third party's patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret, or other intellectual property rights, or rights of publicity, privacy, or other rights; (ii) violate or encourage any conduct that would violate any applicable law, regulation, ordinance, or decree, or that would give rise to civil liability; (iii) be fraudulent, false, misleading, deceptive, defamatory, infringing, harmful, obscene, violent, vulgar, offensive, or otherwise objectionable; (iv) promote discrimination, racism, hatred, harassment, or harm against any individual or group; (v) contain violent, threatening, or abusive content, or promote violence or threatening or abusive conduct against any person or entity; (vi) promote illegal or harmful activities or substances.
You hereby grant Parallens a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, modify, and incorporate any comments, suggestions, feedback, or ideas you submit, for the purposes of improving services, developing new products, or for internal business purposes. This grant of license does not affect any intellectual property rights you may have in the content you submit.
The Parallens application includes a device sharing feature that allows you to share access to your trail camera devices with other users ("Shared Users"), as well as a gallery statistics feature that provides aggregated insights regarding device usage, capture activity, and wildlife detection data.
When you enable device sharing, Shared Users may be able to access: (a) photos and videos captured by the shared device; (b) device location information (including GPS coordinates and geolocation data associated with captured content); (c) device status, battery level, signal strength, and connection logs; (d) gallery statistics, including but not limited to capture counts, species identification results, activity timestamps, and heat maps.
You acknowledge that trail cameras are often deployed in remote or private locations, and that geolocation data associated with your devices and captured content is considered sensitive information.
Separate Consent: When you first use features requiring geolocation (such as gallery statistics or map visualization), we will request precise location permission through a system pop-up and clearly inform you of the specific purposes for which the data will be used. We will collect, process, and display geolocation data to you and your designated Shared Users only after you have actively granted permission.
User Control: You may disable geolocation tagging permissions at any time through your device's system settings or our application settings. Once disabled, the map visualization feature will be unable to display your location trails, but you may still view basic gallery statistics normally (e.g., total capture count, timeline list).
Data Sharing Restrictions: We will not use your geolocation data for any purpose beyond the scope described in this section, nor will we share such data with any third party without your separate consent.
You assume full responsibility for inviting and managing Shared Users. You may revoke a specific user's sharing permissions or directly remove a Shared User through the application at any time.
Immediate Effect: Upon removal, the removed user will immediately lose access to all shared device data, including historical captured content and statistical data.
Security Advisory: We strongly recommend that you share device access only with individuals you fully trust. You may also view a list of all current Shared Users and their permission details within the application.
No Mandatory Authorization: Refusing to grant geolocation permission or revoking sharing permissions will not render the application unable to launch or completely unusable. You may still use the device's basic monitoring and capture functionality (excluding geolocation tagging and map visualization modules).
Gallery statistics may include aggregated and anonymized data derived from your device usage.
Geolocation Data Limitations: Parallens will not share your precise geolocation data with any third party for marketing, advertising, or any other purpose, except with your separate explicit consent or as required by law or regulation.
Service Provider Sharing: To provide essential functions such as cloud storage and analytics services, Parallens may share necessary data with third-party service providers. Before sharing, we will de-identify the data (e.g., by removing direct identifiers), although de-identified data may still be re-identified when combined with other information. For such sharing, we will inform you in detail in this Privacy Policy of the processing purposes, methods, and types of information involved, and will obtain your consent in accordance with the law.
Shared device data is transmitted and stored using industry-standard encryption technology.
Data Retention Period: Parallens will retain your shared device data until either of the following occurs: (1) the sharing relationship between you and the designated Shared User remains active; or (2) you have not proactively deleted the relevant captured content or your account. Upon termination of the sharing relationship, or your deletion of content or your account, the relevant data will be permanently deleted from production systems within 30 days (backup data will be automatically overwritten during this period).
Deletion Request Methods: You may request deletion by sending an email to info@parallens.com, and we will process the request within 15 working days. Apple and Google platforms require an in-app convenient deletion path; therefore, we strongly recommend that you use the in-app deletion function as your preferred method.
The device sharing and gallery statistics features may integrate the following third-party services:
These third-party services may collect your IP address, device model, operating system version, and usage data (but not your precise geolocation data, unless you separately authorize this when enabling the map feature).
Your Responsibility: Your use of these features may also be subject to third-party terms and privacy policies. Parallens recommends that you review the third-party policies linked above. If any third party breaches its commitments in processing your data, Parallens will bear corresponding liability in accordance with the law and assist you in seeking remedies against the third party.
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share data only in the following circumstances:
We may share necessary data with third-party service providers in the following scenarios, entering into strict contracts with them requiring that they process data only in accordance with our instructions, for the purposes described in this section, and for no other purpose:
We will inform you by listing the names and privacy policy links of our primary service providers in this Privacy Policy.
We may disclose your data to comply with applicable laws, government requests, court orders, or in matters involving public interest or law enforcement.
We may disclose data when necessary to enforce our Terms of Service or other agreements, protect our legal rights, prevent fraud, or ensure the safety of users and the public.
In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or asset sale, your information may be transferred. We will notify you of any such change via email, the application, or other appropriate means. You have the right, prior to the transfer, to export or delete your data through the in-app "Settings > Data Management" function, or to delete your account directly to decline the transfer. Unless you proactively delete your data, your data will be governed by the recipient's privacy policy after the transfer. If you continue to use our services after receiving notice, you will be deemed to have consented to the transfer; however, you may exercise the above deletion right at any time.
We are committed to protecting your data:
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected or as required by applicable law. Once the purpose is achieved, or upon user request / account deletion, we will delete or anonymize the data, except where backup systems require phased removal.
Parallens is committed to providing users with a convenient and effective account deletion service, with processing timeframes not exceeding those required by laws and regulations.
Deletion Methods: You may request deletion of your account through any of the following methods:
Processing Timeframe: Parallens will complete the deletion of your account and related data within 15 working days of receiving your deletion request.
Scope of Deletion: Upon deletion of your account, the following data will be permanently removed:
Complete Data Erasure: After account deletion is completed, the relevant data will be permanently deleted from production systems. Due to technical limitations, residual data in backup systems will be automatically overwritten within a maximum of 30 days.
Exceptions Where Direct Deletion Is Not Possible: If certain information must be retained after account deletion due to statutory retention periods under laws or administrative regulations (such as transaction records, security audit logs, etc.), Parallens will anonymize such information so that it can no longer identify a specific individual, and will delete it upon expiration of the statutory retention period.
Notification and Confirmation: Once the account deletion operation is completed, Parallens will send you a notification via email. You may also contact us at any time at info@parallens.com to inquire about the status of your request.
Upon termination of your account, your right to use the Parallens Services will automatically terminate, and we may delete Your Content and other information associated with your account at the end of your subscription period.
You may manage your privacy settings through the following means:
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data held by us. For any privacy-related requests, please contact us at info@parallens.com.
Logging out will stop all data access by the application.
Add or remove cameras in the "My Devices" section; once removed, we will cease collecting data from that camera.

Any use of or access to the Parallens Services by any individual under the age of 13 is strictly prohibited and violates our Terms. If you believe that we may have any information from or about a child under 13, or that we may have information from or about a child without verified parental consent, please contact us at info@parallens.com and we will delete that information.
If you are 13 years of age or older but under 18 years of age, you may use the Parallens Services only after a parent or legal guardian has registered the product or created an account and under their supervision, and must use the Parallens Services under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by our Terms.
Your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. We take appropriate safeguards to ensure that your personal data is protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy, including the use of Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and other lawful transfer mechanisms.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For non-material changes (such as wording refinements or example updates), we will notify you through our website or in-app notifications, and the changes will take effect upon posting. For material changes involving data processing purposes, data types, data sharing scope, or similar, we will notify you via the email address you registered or through prominent in-app means, and will request your renewed explicit consent where necessary (e.g., through a pop-up or click-through confirmation). We will not materially lower the level of protection for your personal data without your explicit consent. Please review this Policy periodically for the most current version.
